SADHU BOARD

Imagine that fakirs and sadhus in ancient India made pilgrimages on foot across the country throughout their lives. In the summer they headed north to the Himalayas to visit the shrines and places of power located there, and in the winter they moved on foot towards the south.

Any journey is to some extent a risk, and on their way, ascetics met with vicissitudes of fate, testing the determination and strength of spirit of seekers of Truth. In such conditions, it was simply vital for a person to have fearlessness, a strong nervous system, a solid physical body, a clear and decisive mind.

All of the above is achieved through spiritual practice, and planks with nails are an excellent tool for gaining these qualities:

☑ TEMPERING THE BODY AND WILL

☑ UNLOCKING YOUR POTENTIAL AND MANAGING YOUR

ENERGY & STATES

☑ ABILITY TO COPE WITH FEARS AND INCREASE STRESS

RESISTANCE

☑ INCREASED SUSTAINABILITY OF ATTENTION

☑ SENSATION OF SUBTLE ENERGY FLOWS

☑ WORKING WITH AFFIRMATIONS AND INTENTIONS

☑ PROMOTING HEALTH AND STIMULATING IMMUNITY

☑ ADDRESSING MENTAL BLOCKS & LIMITING BELIEFS

The practice of Yoga develops in a person a state of bodily health, peace of mind and psychological stability, perfect intellectual clarity and higher spiritual knowledge and awareness - a state in which he is able to benefit both himself and all humanity.

– Swami Satyananda Saraswati

This CHALLENGE is intended not only to “put”  you on nails, and not only to help start standing on a board as much as you want, but also, most importantly, to teach you practical and accessible Yoga. And this means taking control of not only the skin of your feet, but also your state of health and mind, everything in general. Although the main point of interest for Yoga is the human mind, or more precisely, “consciousness”, at least half of the training, especially at the initial stage, is carried out not in the mind, but directly in the body. We stand on a board with nails with our feet, what allows us to do this is not the pelvis, not the foot, not the lower leg - but also the mind, or consciousness. Two people may have equally tender (or rough) feet - but one will be able to stand on nails for an hour, and will also receive pleasure from it, a charge of vigor, a surge of fresh strength, inspiration to live to the fullest and be, as they say, “the best version of yourself - and the other, groaning, will run away from the nails within the first 20 seconds, experiencing only the most unpleasant emotions and, perhaps, swearing loudly... This course will help anyone who wants to become like the first person, and not like the second. But first, let’s figure it out: What is so new that nail training offers us? And is this new at all? I will say that yes, this is not a new, but an ancient practice, but this is not the main thing. The more important thing is that, in many ways, nailing is not learning something new at all, but rather “unlearning.” Nails are that yogic example about a sliver that is used to remove another sliver (splinter) ) – removed something unnecessary from our lives. There is something unnecessary in the lives of any of us. For many people, this is stress, these are bad habits, this is low self-esteem, this is general confusion and lethargy...What about you?

“Control your mind with your mind.
Clear your mind with your mind.
Destroy the mind with the mind.
Dirt on clothes is washed off using other dirt (soap).
The splinter is removed using another sharp object.
One poison is an antidote to another.
Individual consciousness has three forms - dense, subtle and higher.
The physical body is a dense form.
The mind with its limitations and concepts is the subtle body.
Leave both and remain in reality - pure and unchanging consciousness."

– Yoga Vasishtha, chapter 6, “On Liberation”

Why do you need to stand on nails at all?
What are the contraindications to the practice?
How to properly warm up and start practicing
Why and how form an intention?

What breathing practices to use during nailing?

& more.
